Preventing Bribery and Corruption in KFTD with ISO 37001:2016 – The Kick-Off

The kick-off to implement the anti-bribery management system (SMAP) based on ISO 37001: 2016 certification was part of KFTD’s commitment to prevent bribery and corruption. It continues as an effort to uphold good corporate governance practices as well.

This article discusses the importance of the ISO 37001: 2016 kick-off in PT Kimia Farma Trading & Distribution (KFTD) as part of Kimia Farma Group and what comes next. 

The ISO 37001:2016 Kick-Off

Collaborating  with Sentral Sistem Consulting, KFTD held the kick-off event on March 9, 2023, at the KFTD Head Office in Central Jakarta. Sentral Sistem Consulting is a consultant for the implementation of the certification.

The event was attended by, among others, the Director of Finance, Risk Management, and Human Resources; Managers; Assistant Managers, the Risk Management Unit team; and the Corporate Secretary Unit of the KFTD Head Office team. The event comprised some representations from each representative above and ended with signing the Banner of Commitment to the Implementation of SMAP. 

The Significance of ISO 37001:2016 Kick-Off to Prevent Bribery and Corruption in KFTD

The kick-off has demonstrated a commitment, not to mention the importance of detecting, preventing, and handling any risk of bribery and corruption in the KFTD environment. In other words, it started the implementation of an anti-bribery system in the company.

The event asked for collaborative support from all KFTD personnel through a joint commitment to pursue a better company following the KFTD’s good corporate governance practices. Moreover, the primary expectation of implementing ISO 37001:2016 is to enhance brand awareness and trust from all stakeholders.

The Follow-Up

What comes next after ISO 37001:2016 kick-off? Consistent monitoring and regular internal audits are indeed obligatory. They can be proof of KFTD’s commitment to the anti-bribery campaign. Additionally, the company needs to conduct regular audits from external parties through the so-called PDCA method – Plan Do Check Action.
